BLACK FILM — A Living Ethereum Portrait

A perpetual generative artwork that visualizes Ethereum's state in real-time through an ever-dying soap membrane. Every film is born at a random point (seeded from its block's hash).

Mechanism:

Thickness decays exponentially—busy blockchain = fast drain; quiet chain = film lingers in color

Color is genuine thin-film interference: silver → rainbow → black as it thins

Rupture happens when a block fills ≥80%; a clean edge races outward consuming the disc in ~0.3s

Record shows which block number killed it—ownership is provenance, not exclusivity

Renewal immediate: new film closes inward, violent with turbulence, then settles as congestion drops
