The cover of my first book of photographs "Postcards from Vietnam", Published in 1997 in Vietnam. Also one of my most copied images. Rendered in oil on canvas, as a lacquerware panel and embroidered.
Only a few days a year the sun sets at such an angle as to illuminate this corner in the historical town of Hoi An. All I had to do was wait for someone to pass by.
