1/1s: Standoff at the White House

Former President Donald Trump's Twitter account was just reinstated one day ago (today is 11.21.22) so I thought it would be an interesting time to finally put this photo on chain...

This photograph was taken outside of the White House on May 31, 2020

One headline from this day read: "Fires light up Washington DC on third night of George Floyd protests" another read "Trump Retreats to Bunker as Uprisings Intensify"...

I'm standing in front of a crowd of thousands who took to the streets to protest the death of George Floyd, 6 days after he was murdered. A mix of secret service, state police, capitol police and park police stood in front of me with their pepper spray cans and flashbangs ready- only a short time after I took this photo, they began to disperse the crowd.

The police in the photograph are standing in front of a statue of Andrew Jackson that is placed directly in front of the White House on the lawn.
