All representing an angel, each accompanied by an instrument of the passion of Christ. Sculpted by Bernini and his students between 1667 and 1669, they are lined up along both sides of the bridge, opening the way and splendidly framing the passage of the bridge. Angel at the column, Angel with the whip, Angel at the cross, and many others: all the statues are majestically made and offer a museum-like and spectacular aspect to the bridge. The marble which contrasts with the color of the sky as well as the monumentality of the angels represented make the bridge an essential heritage site for the city of Rome. It is then said that his heirs donated them to the church in 1729, where they are now stored as the most precious objects of the Church of Sant Andrea delle Feratte, not far from Piazza di Spagna.
