WHAT'S IN YOUR WALLET?: TWO FACED –– WHAT'S IN YOUR WALLET? #4

WHAT'S IN YOUR WALLET?

Step 1) Rt-click-saved all of the pieces of art in my wallet

Step 2) Trained a GAN on the pieces in my wallet

Step 3) Utilized the GAN outputs as a seed for new creations in Midjourney6

Step 4) Julia painted “Oh, those golden days” with oil on canvas

Step 5) Mixed GAN outputs with Julia's oil painting in Midjourney

Step 6) Upscaled Magnific AI

Step 7) Composed together and recolored in Photoshop

// PREFACE FROM JULIA

Both paintings that I made—the initial one and the final one—are about human memory and how it is constructed. Ability of our brain to operate with a gigantic amount of information, filtering it night by night, only keeping what’s important…

Yes, you are remembering that silly song from cartoons at age 7 because it was meaningful. If you don’t remember how to calculate the square root, you know what it means too.

So, working in a collaboration with MLow and his GAN, trained on his collection of art, aka collection of memories, aka the essence of his choices, was a logical continuation of my narrative.

In our era, human memory has been extended widely beyond the boundaries of our own cranium. Our machines remember us. And we learn a whole new way of interacting with ourselves, each other, and them.

// DESCRIPTION

MLow, a crypto artist known for his AI collaborations, presents "What's In Your Wallet?" - a series exploring identity and taste in the digital age. Inspired by the idea that our possessions define us, MLow trains a Generative Adversarial Network (GAN) on the art pieces in his cryptocurrency wallet, and then proceeds to use those outputs as seeds for new creations.

The AI mixed-model (GAN, ChatGPT 4o, Midjourney6, Photoshop with AI Generative Fill, Magnific AI Upscale, Pika, Luma Labs, and more) interprets the stylistic and thematic elements of the collected works, creating a dialogue between them. The resulting AI-generated pieces are a fusion of influences, embodying MLow's digital persona. He further engages multiple AI models to transform the works, each leaving its mark and adding new layers of interpretation. This iterative process mirrors MLow's journey of self-discovery, as the AI models deconstruct and reconstruct his identity. "What's In Your Wallet?" invites us to reflect on how we curate and express our identities in the digital world.

One of my favorite rabbit holes that I went down with this project was working with @jhuffizi to have a conversation through our work. From oil painting, to GAN, Mixed GAN with Oil painting in Midjourney, back to Oil painting, Magnific, and back to Midjourney6.

I also attempted to learn how to code with ChatGPT 4o in conversation with Claude to write a script using Python that would connect to etherscan API and download all of the pieces in one's wallet, train a GAN on it, and then create new pieces with them in Midjourney6....
