In a moment of absolute desperation, I decided to write a farewell letter to my wife. I had a small book with me, and in it, I scrawled a message, convinced that I wouldn’t survive the night. The exhaustion, fear, and hopelessness were crushing me. I wrote about how much I loved her and how sorry I was that I wouldn’t be there for her anymore It felt like the end.
