You can play the "unbreakable metal" card all you want. You hold up the world for everyone else, never letting them see your hands shake. You act like a rock because you think you have to.
...But eventually, you’re going to trip. You’ll fall into the void so slowly it feels cinematic. You’ll count every jagged rock on the way down, calculating the damage. You’ll try to scream for a savior, but your ego will lock your throat tight. You’ll just close your eyes and wait for the "game over" screen.
And then - plot twist. A centimeter from the face-plant, someone catches you. You’re back under a blue sky, alive, and all you can do is take those greedy, desperate breaths. Inhale. Exhale. Every lungful of air makes you feel less like lead and more like light. That rusted, jagged spring inside you - the one that’s been grinding your gears for years - finally snaps back into place.
Sometimes the "tactical super-weapons" among us need to malfunction. We need to let someone else handle the rescue mission without feeling like a failure. We need to quit being the last line of defense and just remember how to breathe.
