The Lonely Astronaut: Closed (Please Call Again)

In one year, I've lost 120 pounds (and counting). This may seem crazy, but one of the biggest rewards from my hard work was being able to fit into the astronaut suit that I've been photographing other people in since 2017. Being able to take self portraits in a character that I feel was an actual extension of me spiritually is just so emotionally rewarding.

The other nice thing about this is being able to carry the astronaut suit and camera around with me while I drive around, and being able to take photos wherever I please spur of the moment without having to rely on other people to "model" in the suit.

This particular location was the absolute best random location find I've ever come across. The decay, the lighting, the car- so so amazing. I drove past this one night and slammed on my breaks to turn around and take self portraits here. I feel so lucky to have found this place- it has since been one of my favorite locations/photos.

Fun fact: the remote shutter is always in the thumb part of my right glove.
