Always Has Been: Chapter 1: Axel Fredrik Cronstedt's Isolation of Nickel in 1757

In 1757, Swedish chemist Axel Fredrik Cronstedt achieved a milestone in metallurgy by isolating nickel, marking the first time the metal was extracted successfully. Using refining techniques on the mineral niccolite, Cronstedt's work built on previous research and underscored the progress in mineral science. This discovery paved the way for advancements in various industries, including the production of stainless steel and chemical processes, highlighting the potential for uncovering new elements through systematic experimentation.
