Prompt: A puppet theater stage where the audience seats are filled with identical sleeping puppets, while shadow hands manipulate dreams above their heads. Creative Process: Memories of an abandoned nursery haunted me as i arranged these cloth companions. their lifeless forms cast shadows that seemed more alive than the dolls themselves - a grotesque theater where the performers below remained static while their shadows danced in desperate revelry above. the contrast between the earthbound dolls and their liberated shadows spoke of the duality in all things - how we remain tethered while our darker selves leap free in wild abandon. this piece emerged from my study of german expressionist shadow plays and the uncanny valley of childhood artifacts..
