"Komorebi" is a Japanese term that doesn't have a direct equivalent in English. It refers to the sunlight as it filters through the leaves of trees.
My aim for this project was to capture the feeling of sunlight filtering through trees. However, I didn't want to go the obvious route and create a realistic depiction, as that wasn't my goal. I wanted to take a more artistic and technical approach.
So, I decided to use programming code to create the scene. I designed the trees with multiple generative lines, which together resemble a forest. For the sunlight, I didn't go for a typical animation. Instead, I used a rasterized image and programmed a specific movement that gives the impression of sun rays shining through the trees.
