Cornish Landscape: Star Mining by Ashley Hampson

The Crown Engine Houses underneath Ursa Major and Polaris.

I added myself to the composition to help balance things and add scale to the landscape. I wanted to keep the North Star pretty central to the image and lead the eye to it with my head torch.

The light coming from the left was that of the moon. It was 44% visible and above the horizon until 10.30. When it was at it lowest point I made the photograph.
