Eclipse: When the Sky Stood Still and I Faced the Flame

The sky stopped. Not because it wanted to, but because it had no choice. The air hung heavy, like the world itself was holding its breath, watching, waiting.

And there I was small, trembling, staring at a flame that did not roar, that did not destroy, but looked into me as if it knew every secret I had buried.

It touched the parts of me I pretended didn’t exist. The parts I hid from everyone else and sometimes even from myself. Courage and fear stopped being two separate things. They folded into one, burning, raw, undeniable.

Time itself seemed to bend. Moments stretched until a single heartbeat felt like a lifetime. And I understood the fire was never outside me. It was waiting inside, patient, relentless, asking me to choose what kind of person I would be.

So I ask you now when the fire finally finds you, when the sky pauses for your decision, when the weight of the world rests on that single, trembling choice will you stand, will you rise, or will you turn and run, knowing it will follow anyway?
