Drafted on October 26, 2024, after a month of planning, this image captures the earliest conceptual summary that would later evolve into Forever Library. At the time, musicians—especially those working with single-edition NFTs—were seeking a new home to mint their work, as many prior platforms had shut down or pivoted away from NFTs.
The original idea centered around a music-focused shared contract. The text in the image reads:
"Sovereign Music Collective Contract
General Philosophy: A sovereign collective of early music NFT pioneers and advocates creating their own place to mint 1/1 music NFTs on a shared contract. New artists would be added and whitelisted to mint on an ongoing curated basis.
Modeled on the functionality and onchain structure of platforms like SuperRare and Catalog.works (legacy), but without the guise of a platform. It is simply a collective of artists choosing to build their own onchain history together on one contract.
Contract Features: One shared ERC-721 smart contract.
Establish one admin (contract deployer) who can whitelist artists to mint from their own wallets while all using the same contract.
Limit minting to 1/1s and particular media types (WAV, MP3), including still thumbnail images for the above."
This artifact marks the philosophical and technical origin of what would later become the Forever Library protocol.
