When you spend half your time 'pointing the camera down' looking for small details and scenes, it can be oh so easy to miss things happening around you. On this occasion I was photographing the multi-coloured rocks along the shoreline at Machrie Bay on the Isle of Arran, lost in my thoughts. It wasn't until I noticed the glow of the sky bouncing off the rocks that I looked up to see the most amazing sunset occurring and I almost missed it! Moments like this live with you forever. The sunset was so incredibly vivid and spectacular, even the locals were talking about it in the pub later that evening. A truly special event.
