A goddess is a female spirit or being who is believed to have power over a specific part of the world or nature in many religions. Mictecacihuatl literally means "lady of the dead" in Aztec mythology, the ancient culture of central Mexico. Mictecacihuatl was the Aztec goddess who ruled the underworld and guarded the bones of the dead, which the Aztecs believed were a source of life in the next world. Her role was to guard the bones of the dead and preside over festivals of the dead. This is my version of Mictecacihuatl, the supreme death goddess.
