MAE Drop Art: Portrait with Snakes #533

A portrait with snakes captures a profound inner dialogue—a confrontation with fear. As a child, Marina once walked through the woods with her grandmother and unknowingly picked up what she thought was a stick. It turned out to be a venomous snake, a creature that could have ended her life, but, instead, etched itself into her memory as a source of lingering fear. For Marina, art is a process where she brings her fears to life, confronting and transforming them. The snake, an ancient and powerful symbol, embodies duality and transformation. It is both protector and guide, carrying wisdom and the promise of healing. Through this potent symbol, the portrait weaves together vulnerability, strength, and the artist's journey of self-renewal.
