I sit inside a noise I can’t turn down,
sirens in color, the world spun around.
My skin feels thin, my thoughts too loud,
a calm face hiding a silent crowd.
Money floats by like a false god’s prayer,
bombs fall soft in the back of the air.
I’m not panicking, I’m just aware
of how fragile this moment, this place, this stare.
Hand to my head, I try to stay sane,
numb to the pleasure, sharp to the pain.
One small truth I can’t outrun..
what the fuck have we become?
