Artist Note: After The Wave is a modern remix of two classics. The Raft of the Medusa is a iconic masterpiece by French Romantic painter Gricault. The Medusa's graphic romantic style depicted great wreck of a frigate of the cost of Senegal in 1816. Combined with Hokusai's The Great Wave off Kanagawa also known as The Wave was a late Edo period and is single handedly the most iconic wood block print EVER!
