A figure-eight knot rendered by a shader that wears its own source code.
There is no geometry here: the knot exists only as a probability. Each pixel fires 1000 stochastic samples at a parametric curve, white noise, cubically biased around its best guess, and the dust you see is the estimator converging in real time. The stipple is not a texture: it is the algorithm, visible.
The tube's surface is typeset with the GLSL source that generates it, wrapped three times around the knot. The program reads itself at startup and wears itself as skin. Behind it, the same code drifts as glitched phosphor text: flickering rows, sideways tears, the occasional hot green line. A visual quine, closed.
Palette: EVA Unit-01, violet armor, phosphor-green bands flowing along the curve, orange discharges racing the other way. Every time-dependent term is 2π-periodic: the piece loops seamlessly, forever, and never repeats a frame of noise.
Live WebGL2, single self-contained HTML file, no dependencies, no build. Adaptive quality: the piece measures its own frame rate and re-tunes itself to the device it finds. From workstation to weak phone, it always renders.
Technique after zozuar's shader raymarching, with original curve, palette, breathing tube, parametric coloring and quine surface.
