(Ch41) 23 - Mignonverse World Histoire Twenty Three - Summer Dream
Meanwhile, as the Mignonauts began exploring the Mignonverse and breathing life into life itself, the Mignon Rocket sailed on in a jolly mood.
WereKitty, however, after so many years aboard, started huffing and puffing.
“What I miss the most,” she murmured, laconic, “is a proper summer. A holiday break. The feeling of being somewhere exotic, indulging in the lightness of a sunset… that, to me, is the finest treat for the soul.”
Her eyes, dreamy and far away, lingered on the horizon of the Mignonverse. And then, from the distance, she saw it: a radiant world where she felt she could spend her forever-holidays. Bees hummed in the warmth of the air, fields of golden sunflowers swayed in the hot breeze, and giant mushrooms stood proudly, parasols of nature, offering cool patches of shade for the wanderer to rest
“I want to be there!” she exclaimed.
But just then, a tremendous cough rattled the rocket!
The crew clutched to dear life. Again the sound came — a sneeze, then another — and each time, the rocket veered off its course. The beloved Summerdream Planet drifted further from reach.
“Not fair!” WereKitty cried.
On a lonely satellite, floating without anchor, a little man was sneezing.
“Oh, bless you!” called WereKitty, her voice tender.
At once, the satellite began to spin around the rocket, drawn in. The sneezy man’s eyes widened with joy.
“I’ve found my attraction!” he shouted, gaze fixed lovingly on… WereKitty.
“Who are you?” she asked, intrigued.
“Bjartignon,” he said between two sneezes.
“That’s wonderful for you,” she replied, with a sigh, “but I was longing for my holiday on Summerdream Planet… and your sneezes are pulling me off course.”
Yet when she looked closer at Bjartignon, so frail and ill, her heart softened. She cared for him: offering honey for his throat, vitamins for his strength… and, truth be told, a few secret bisous for his heart. Soon, Bjartignon was himself again, full of life.
But alas — the Summerdream Planet remained a dream away.
Grateful beyond words, and deeply touched by WereKitty’s kindness, Bjartignon felt a pang of guilt. He had disturbed her dream. And so, an idea bloomed.
“WereKitty, my dear… jump aboard my satellite with me!”
She hesitated, but had no better plan. Bjartignon explained:
“If you join me, my satellite will no longer revolve around you. It will become ours. And if we both wish strongly enough to reach the Summerdream Planet… the attraction will be there.”
And indeed — it worked. Slowly, the satellite’s path bent towards the colourful world. The Mignon crew waved their warm farewells as the lovers drifted away, drawn by a shared dream.
WereKitty realised then that the sweetest part of any holiday is not the holiday itself… but the growing anticipation. And this forever-holiday, shared with Bjartignon, promised to be the very best of all.
