Exfoliations: Rainbow eater

The "Rainbow Eater" is the central figure in the "Exfoliations" triptych. In this art work, I tried to personify those forces within us that feed on our torments and eat that share of joy that the universe and fate have given us. This creature wakes up in us in moments of confusion and is always hungry. Abstract paintings drawn with real paints were taken as a basis for this work and converted to 3D model. This setup was then placed in a real-time graphical environment in order to distort it with GLSL code.
