The forces of the wind are potent. They can move houses and scour the ground clean. We can only bear witness to this power, we have no control of it. When I documented this intense tornado, I gained a new level of respect for Mother Nature. This was the only time I have seen horizontal vortices dancing around the fringes of the parent tornado. Before this day, tornadoes of this magnitude only happened in my dreams.

Filmed on April 14th, 2012 near Salina, KS. I am forever grateful that the tornado lifted as it neared the town.
