As a photographer who strives for perfection in every image, this photograph stands out from the crowd as one that is clearly not...but it remains one of my favourite photographs for the moment it captures rather than the technicalities. The small child watching her mother intently as she lays our her wares for sale on the street encapsulates my experience of wandering the streets in India. Future prospects may not be the same as they are for people elsewhere in this world, but that doesn't mean you can't take pride in what you do. Maybe this child will grow up to do great things, but in this moment she studies how her mother makes money to feed her, perhaps one day having to do the same for her children.
