Faster than wind. Lighter than air. Wind is a real-world metaphor for agility. Nowhere is it more realized than under the wings of birds.
This piece is a demonstration of the power of wind when harnessed; as well as the delicate relationship between wildlife, the elements, and humans. The Canada Jay or "Whiskey Jack" is an extremely smart avian that lives in high altitudes of North America. As a result of countless hikers feeding these curious birds, this particular jay pestered me relentlessly. Landing on my poles, my head, and even my hand while I reached for my bag; he was searching for food, even though I had none. I seized the opportunity of his friendliness to demonstrate both the beauty of nature, and the danger with interfering with it.
If you witness someone feeding wildlife, kindly ask them to stop. It leads to issues that can endanger the animals, and possibly the entire ecosystem.
