Top Of The World by Steven Cormann

Here is one of my favourite personal pieces, done in 2019 when I was living in Scotland. It is inspired a little bit by the Tolkien universe and also by the dramatic skies I experienced everyday in Scotland, especially from the view in my office, located at the top of the Skypark in Glasgow. I'm very much a scifi guy but every now and then I like to dig into fantasy too. Even though the landscape itself is not exactly inspired by Scotland, the stormy skies with the sun piercing through the clouds and the overall harsh climate very much are.

I called it Top Of The World as I imagined this would be the ruins of an ancient city lost far up North, almost completely covered in snow and shaken by constant storms, and also because I would see those kinds of sunsets very often from the top of the tower I was working in.
