Morning Blaze

Is this the beautiful backlit song of a red-winged blackbird in morning light or a super stoned bird taking a huge rip off a massive spliff?

For me, it was the former. I spent a couple of hours in 0C temps waiting for just the right moments when I could catch the baited breath of a red-winged blackbird. I fired over 3000 frames and only 3 were keepers. Thrilled with my results, I shared my images online expecting them to elicit feelings of elation and contentedness amongst fellow bird enthusiasts and nature lovers. And for a while they did. But then the Internet did what it does best. It Internetted. And soon my beautiful blackbird was a heavy tokin', dope smokin', sonuvabitch and now, I just can't unsee it.
