Together At Sea // #01

#01 is the beginning.

The bold colors and the simple shapes frame the story that is about to be told in the subsequent pieces. The harsh bright yellow and overlapping charcoal blacks create a struggle of attention with the viewer. A motif of square and rectangle shapes along with its mobile phone frame size should feel subconsciously familiar to the collector and yet hint that all is not right.

This series of paintings is centered on losing a parent and the subsequent feeling of picking up the pieces afterwards. The series starts static but gets more chaotic until it reaches a crescendo and the denouement is up to the viewer to interpret.
