The Girl with a Gold Earring

As an ode to the painter Johannes Vermeer and his painting “The Girl with a Pearl Earring” I have reinterpreted this classic painting through my artistic process. In this process, I deconstruct the figure into multiple layers of color, textures, skin tones, and materials. I then reassemble the figure once again, this time, keeping only what I believe is necessary and essential.
