Beware unearned wisdom.
I had taken the hero’s journey, not knowing what it would bring. Naked in the abyss, I floated; I searched for questions but instead found answers to things beyond my perception. I found myself dying, again and again, until I lost the distinction between push and pull. The world around me became no less of me than I thought myself to be. In death, I found a new color, and the color contained new life. The weeks after, I had to relearn how to eat and sleep. I became obsessed with what I had seen but knew that words failed to describe such things. Fast forward nine months, and I had totaled 700 hours on this piece. I needed it to be perfect; everything in its right place. Upon finishing the work, I cried, for the word I needed was color.
