Sinjar is a city in the Iraqi province of Ninawa, where most of the population is made up of Yazidi Kurds. On the morning of August 3, ISIS forces attacked the city of Sinjar and were able to capture the entire city in a short time. According to the United Nations, thousands of refugees were expelled from the city and taken refuge in places without basic facilities. This battle displaced the citizens of Sinjar from the city because according to the ideology of ISIL, they are infidels and it is obligatory to kill them. During the capture of Sinjar, more than 5,000 Yazidis were killed, 50,000 displaced, and about 5,000 people, including a number of young Yazidi girls and women, were captured by ISIS forces as spoils of war. The United Nations has said that what happened to ISIS in Sinjar was a war crime. They were promised lust in paradise, unaware that they started from this paradise and plundered the nymphs of Kurdistan.
