The Village Dancers

This is a hand drawn and frame by frame animated art work set to original music custom composed for the animation.

This scene showcases a Village Festival Music and Dance routine.

This piece is heavily inspired from Warli Tribal Art.

The Warli are an indigenous tribe living in the western parts of India, predominantly in the mountain ranges of the Western Ghats, as well as coastal borders of Maharashtra - Gujarat.

Theirs is a unique art form of wall painting relying principally on basic geometric shapes: a circle, a triangle, and a square. These shapes are symbolic of different elements of nature.

The circle represents the sun and the moon and the triangle depicts mountains. The square corresponds to human invention, indicating a sacred enclosure or a piece of land.

I have used a colour scheme similar to the traditional art form with the colour derived from pictures of red sand and limestone.
