Roaring Silence

07/12/2021: A day full of precipitation. A constant shift between swift mist and heavy rain drops. My partner and I appreciate a rainy day, but by the late evening we weren't feeling too enthusiastic about it. We were exhausted from the lack of sleep the previous nights.. settled in and calling it a night, but around 9:00pm we felt the urge to find one more spot to explore. Thanks to a burst of energy and a tip from a local, we geared up in our water proof gear and set out for this spot. On the short hike to this waterfall, it seemed like we would have it all to ourselves. Just the two of us and a group of sheep hugging the canyon walls to stay dry. When this "foss" came in to view, we were instantly entranced by this landscape. It's hard to find the words to describe the feeling of being alone in this canyon. A total silence.. drowned out by the roar of the waterfall. I've never felt further away from the earth than I did this evening. This is a moment I will never forget.
