Landscapes have emotions.
We woke up at 3 AM to catch a bright, happy and golden sunrise landscape at Moraine Lake. Little did I know, Mother Nature has other plans for us that day.
Fog enveloped the entire lake and blocked the view of the Ten Peaks. We waited for more than an hour for the fog to go away, but it never did. I was really disappointed but my girlfriend pointed out to me that this foggy condition actually looks really beautiful.
That's when I realized that the lake was showing us emotions of melancholy instead of the happy vibe that I was expecting. I learned that it's important for us to accept how things are instead of forcing how we want them to be.
Letting go of "ideal conditions" allows us to see and appreciate the beauty of what the outdoors is giving us. I'm grateful for this valuable lesson.
