My journey as a photographer started over 18 years ago with a simple camera. The journey of this shot began at that time too.
A boy and his camera.
One trip in 2018 that re-sparked the fire and a return to that spot.
A challenging hike to an iconic spot.
A break from the heat of Moab as dusk set in on the desert.
An end.
A beginning.
I had spent nearly 60 hours in a car with my wife, with over 30 hours left in the car on our return journey home. This shot a culmination of our time in the southwest during June of 2021. The cars swiftly exiting across these iron deficient hills for dinner, sleep and more adventure ahead. These trails of light sweeping up the desert signify the end of the chase, for now. This piece signifies a new beginning for me as I start my journey into a career creating work I love and meeting new friends along the way. Standing there that night, I didn't know I'd be here but I'm sure glad I am. I'm sure glad you are here to view the dusk of my beginning.
