This piece symbolizes the way emoticons have begun to dominate communications in the modern age.
Part of the “Emojilution” collection - the first of three.
Studies show that emoji characters have different meanings in different cultures and even age groups. While as part of being an artist I express feelings with visual images, I struggle doing so with Emojis. Using pictograms to communicate can be problematic and overly simplistic but it is the next phase in human communication, and we need to accept that. This collection emphasizes the inevitability of evolution together with the pain it involves.
