This night was the turning point for me in astrophotography field. I picked up a camera when I was 11 years old, and this location had been a dream of mine for over a decade at that point. Finally, I was lucky enough to make it here with some of my best friends in January, 2019. We got there in the afternoon and planned on shooting photos for a little bit, but ended up staying well into the night after realizing the moon was up, and would illuminate the scene once the sun went completely down.
I decided that I wanted to attempt my first ever double exposure, which is 2 exposures blended together in-camera. I knew that I was going to have to play my cards right, since the second exposure can somethings appear at lower opacity when overlaid.
I completely winged it, and this was the final result. 1 exposure was the stars, and the other was the foreground with one of our friends standing on a rock with a flashlight.
