The Citadel

I captured this image from the top of a nearby ridge above Loveland Pass on an April evening. During the winter months in Colorado, I always get the urge to hike up to high elevations. This type of hiking in the snow comes with plenty of challenges and extra gear, but the lack of crowds and witnessing the light dance across these white landscapes makes the challenges more than worth it. While most people are skiing in Breckenridge, you'll find me shivering on top of a nearby ridge.
