Back In 2018, I took a trip to the Sierra Nevada Mountains with some good friends of mine(where I now call home). We had the idea to go to this lake for quite some time. Over the course of about a week, I came here 3 separate times. This was the 3rd time.
We came here the previous night to see how the color had evolved over the past several days. After seeing how vibrant it had become, we knew we had to head back for a sunrise. We arrived the next morning to some rain showers in the area, blocking all the light, which eventually cleared out entirely.
About an hour later, we saw a much larger band of showers making its way over the Sierra Crest. With clear skies behind us now, we all started wondering if we were about to get a rainbow. And sure enough, we did. On top of that, the wind died down just minutes before it appeared, casting a perfect reflection.
This is still one of my favorite scenes I've ever witnessed.
