Heaven and Earth

Night sky photography and seeing the Milky Way can humble you. You can get lost gazing into the abyss of our own galaxy and beyond. It's easy to be blown away by the expanse of the cosmos. I had scouted this location earlier in the day and checked when the Milky Way would be in position. After looking at the weather forecast I returned that night to find everything perfectly in place. As I stood on the small boardwalk floating above the swampy waters I couldn't help but take in a deep breath and make a mental note of the good vibes. My favorite part about this photograph is how the boardwalk lines up perfectly with the Milky Way as if to be a vessel between heaven and earth.
