The Birth of Venus

This painting is my interpretation of the Birth of Venus or Aphrodite the goddess of love and beauty from the Greek/Roman mythology. She was born fully grown from sea foam. I use sea shell and blooming red rose to signify her birth. Red rose also known as the flower of Venus. Butterflies denote spring time, the season of rebirth, renewal and resurrection.

This is the high resolution digital record of my original oil painting on canvas. The actual dimensions of the painting is 45 x 60 cm.
