"7Vitral Wonders" (Collection of 7)
The Taj Mahal is a mausoleum located in Agra, India, and is the most known monument of the Country. It is classified by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. It was announced in 2007 as one of the "Seven Wonders of the Modern World".
The work was done between 1632 and 1653 with the strength of some 20,000 men. The Emperor Shah Jahan had built it in memory of his favourite wife, Aryumand Banu Begam, whom he called Mumtaz Mahal ("The jewel of the palace"). She died after giving birth her 14th child, and the Taj Mahal was built on her grave.
The Taj Mahal is also known as the greatest proof of love in the world, containing inscriptions taken from the Qur'an. It is inlaid with semi-precious stones. It is assumed that the emperor intended to make a replica of the original Taj Mahal on the other side of the river, in black marble, but ended up dead before work began by one of his sons.
