Aligned

Have you ever had a dream that came true before your eyes? This scene was an actual dream that I visioned long before visiting Iceland. I had actually pictured this waterfall covered in snow, with a pink sky above (conditions you can only dream of).

While visiting in Fall of 2018, we got a nice snow day and decided this was finally the opportunity to visit Aldeyjarfoss. As we arrived it was still overcast from the storm and was not looking hopeful. I set up in the best spot to capture the wide depth of this magnificent waterfall and just waited for the sun to get lower, and maybe create some color.

This day was quite windy and the storm clouds behind the waterfall started to disappear as the sun dipped below the horizon. I looked up and saw amazing pink clouds in the sky, and thought what if they moved behind this scene. The wind carried the colorful sunset clouds behind the waterfall, and aligned perfectly to create my dream shot exactly as I envisioned years before ever visiting.
