A young Arctic fox in it's dark summer coat, coming close to check out the camera noises, at the Two Rivers wildlife recovery center on Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia.
I have only photographed animals in captivity twice in my life, both times at Two Rivers, once on this September day in 2019 and then again in February 2021. Both times I was able to photograph this same fox (that NFT is also on Foundation), so the two images offer a great comparison between the slim, dark summer fur and the puffy white winter coat of the Arctic fox.
