Cocoon Sculpture Concept Fund/Donation

This animated sketch serves as the digital prototype of a sculpture currently being built and soon to be installed along a suburban greenway in Asheville, North Carolina. I was nominated to partake in an artist's exhibition, "Hominy Rising", to celebrate the greenway/nature preserve with a reflection on the history, ecology, and beauty of the tract. I will build a large cocoon while utilizing invasive flora to construct the frame. The frame will then be wrapped with hemp twine. The cocoon is meant to blend in slightly with the environment but will become alien upon further inspection. It will serve as a visual anomaly in the forest and represent invasive species takeovers in our indigenous forests. size of work: ~6ft. x 2.5" *The Greenway was recently hit hard by flooding from the first round of this year's tropical storms. The sale of this NFT will go towards production costs and 25% of the final bid will go to the non-profit, fohcg.org, who maintain the space.
