Piece #74 of 100
Mundari tribesman smoking with a pipe in the early morning (South Sudan). The Mundari are cattle herders who live in symbiosis with their Ankole Watusi cattle, characterized by their large horns. Few guardians sleep in the cattle camp during the night to control the herd. Sleep is not always easy, and the herders must often protect their livestock from jackals, hyenas and African wild dogs. The main threat to livestock, however, is from raiders since the cattle rustling is a common cultural practice.
