Mural - Bhoomi and Varuna

Varuna is the lord of the oceans. He is depicted with two hands, the right hand holding a lotus known as Kumuda the night lotus, while the left hand in the Lolahasta Mudra. No creature carries on without Varuna. There are no limits to Varuna's knowledge: he knows of a hundred thousand medicines to heal any affliction, and foresees all destinies.

Bhoomi is the Goddess represents the earth. She is the source of all vegetation, and thereby responsible for agricultural bounties. Typical devotional pictures or statues of Bhudevi depict the goddess as a shapely woman with dark skin.

Here, I try to convey the equilibrium between the land and ocean by bringing out it as an art. The inseparable bond of Bhoomi and Varuna, the reason for the existence of life.
