Fishman of Lierganes

Illustration inspired by the legend of the fish boy of Lierganes, a small town in north of Spain. In the XVII century a couple reported his son missing and 5 years after was reported swimming in Denmark.

Finally the creature was captured by fishermen and the family recognised his lost son despite the gills and the scales that had grown on to his skin. Shortly after being reunited with his family he went back to the depths of the sea. This illustration is part of a series of dark fantasy characters.
