Piece #63 of 100
Portrait of a Dani tribesman climbing a traditional tower. The Dani are an ethnic group found only in 1938 and living in the central highlands of West Papua (Indonesia). They remained until then technically still in the stone age. Close to their villages, Dani people are used to rise "towers" made of long wooden poles. They are used as defensive buildings to increse the sighting distance and for offensive purposes as a location for archers.
