For as long as I can remember, I’ve been obsessed with the ocean. It’s the largest part of our planet, but also the least explored. As much as I love and admire the ocean, I also deeply respect its power. On two occasions, it almost took my life.
Despite these near brushes with death, when given the chance to call the ocean home, I leaped at the opportunity. I packed all of my gear and boarded a flimsy wooden boat for a 3-day expedition around the islands of Indonesia.
While on this unforgettable trip, I encountered wild Komodo dragons, a beach made of pink sand, and the most incredible blue ocean I had ever seen. Sometimes life is worth taking risks, even if those risks can kill you.
